fave five: kids books
Oh we love books. I'm pretty sure every baby shower that was thrown for me had the "bring a book instead of a card" thing and we have ended up with quite the little library. It's so fun to watch Cash engage and learn even at such a young age. I hope to share our current faves every so often in hopes that you might find some new ones for your tots or just give you some baby shower gift ideas. Here are our current fave five:
'Home' by Carson Ellis
This beautifully illustrated book looks at homes around the world and some fantasy worlds. The author is the wife of Colin Meloy who is the man behind the band The Decemberists (she does all their artwork). All the more reason to love it.
'Tumford the Terrible" by Nancy Tillman
A cat causing trouble within and without. A cat named Tumford, Tumford Stout.
"Blueberries for Sal" by Robert McCloskey
A total classic, a mom and daughter go blueberry picking while a mama bear and baby bear go blueberry picking. Adorable.
"M is for Monocle" and other era alphabets by Greg Paprocki
These books are so FUN. They are beautifully colored and illustrated and often have words that I need to look up. Enjoyable to look through as an adult is always a plus.
"Peanut Butter & Cupcake" by Terry Border
Peanut butter wants to make some friends but he has to go through some interesting combinations (peanut butter and meatball, peanut butter and soup, etc) until he finally finds his new bff jelly at the end.
And there you have it! I hope you scoop up some of these at the library or for gifts, we love them!
