mini tassel earrings
I hope you all had a great weekend!
I have the easiest DIY for you this morning- tassel earrings! If you have done any kind of accessory shopping this spring you're sure to have come across some tassel/fringe inspired earrings, they are everywhere! This simple version will cost you a max of $5 and can take as little as 10 minutes.
I tested these out with my monthly brunch ladies and it was such a fun thing to do as a group. I love how everyone personalized them, it gave me some serious inspiration to make more!
Let's get started!
- 2 skeins embroidery floss in color of your choosing plus one coordinating color for top wrap of the tassel if you want some contrast
- earring fishhooks (I used these)
- thin rectangular object to wrap with (credit card or smart phone work well-the smaller the object you use the fluffier your tassels will be)
You can scroll through my yarn tassel photo tutorial here, and there are only a few adjustments you need to make to turn them into earrings.
After you wrap one skein of floss around the length of your object, cut off a couple inch piece and feed that through the top and knot. Turn the knot underneath so you can't see it when you do your coordinating wrap. This piece will be what you connect your actual earring to. After that, you just carry on with tasseling- wrap around the top then cut and trim the bottom to your liking.
There you have it! Happy crafting!
